SCHLOTZSKY'S DELI LAUNCHES NEW STACKED SUBS -- BUILT HIGH WITH QUALITY AND LOTZ OF FLAVOR -- IN COLLABORATION WITH OWEN HAN, THE INTERNET'S "KING OF SANDWICHES"

A culinary disruptor emerges as Schlotzsky's Deli stacks the odds with its latest innovation, leveraging the expertise of internet sensation Owen Han to craft high-quality, flavor-packed subs that defy traditional deli norms. The new Stacked Subs menu features a carefully curated selection of premium meats, cheeses, and toppings, all expertly layered to deliver a bold, Instagram-worthy eating experience. With Han's seal of approval, Schlotzsky's Deli is poised to shake up the fast-casual landscape.

Schlotzsky's Deli has introduced a new menu line called Stacked Subs, available now at locations nationwide. The lineup includes three signature sandwiches: Turkey Avocado BLT, Honey Mustard Club, and Zesty Italian. All are served on new Artisan White or Harvest Wheat sub rolls, with house-made sauces and premium ingredients.

The collaboration

Schlotzsky's partnered with Owen Han, a self-taught recipe creator and author of the cookbook Stacked, who has built a following online for his sandwich reviews and "stack tests." Han reviewed the new subs and gave his approval, citing strong flavor combinations, quality ingredients, and a "craveable build." The collaboration is limited to Han lending his name and endorsement; he did not design the recipes.

The three sandwiches

  • Turkey Avocado BLT – turkey, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a house-made sauce.
  • Honey Mustard Club – turkey, ham, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard dressing.
  • Zesty Italian – salami, pepperoni, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, and Italian vinaigrette.

All three are built on the new sub rolls, which replace the chain's traditional sourdough bun for this line. Schlotzsky's says the rolls are designed to hold the stacked ingredients without falling apart.

Pricing and availability

Stacked Subs are available now at all Schlotzsky's locations in the US. Pricing varies by location; the chain has not announced a national price point. The sandwiches are not limited-time offers, but Schlotzsky's has not confirmed whether they will become permanent menu items.

Background

Schlotzsky's was founded in Austin, Texas in 1971 and operates over 280 restaurants in 25 states as of March 29, 2026. The chain is part of the GoTo Foods portfolio, which includes seven brands. The Stacked Subs launch is part of a broader menu refresh aimed at addressing consumer complaints about shrinking portions, according to Chief Brand Officer Donna Varner.

Bottom line

Schlotzsky's Stacked Subs are a straightforward menu expansion: three new sandwiches on new bread, with an influencer endorsement. If you already like Schlotzsky's, these are worth trying for the different roll and sauce combinations. If you don't, the collaboration alone won't change the chain's core fast-casual formula.
